Created for the exhibit "An Island Far Far Away" hosted by the Tourism Centre Gallery at the settlement known as Edinburgh of the Seven Seas on the island of Tristan da Cunha. The artwork will become part of the island's permanent art collection.

Exhibition Calendar: Dec 1 - 31, 2019

The South Atlantic volcanic isle is the most remote populated island in the world with 250 permanent inhabitants (as of 2018). It is about mid-way between South America and Africa with the nearest mainland city - Cape Town, South Africa, 1,743 miles to the east. The journey from there takes six to seven days by ship. Traveling by air is not an option because there is no airport. The island has a diameter of roughly 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) and an area of 98 square kilometres (38 sq mi). The volcano's summit, called Queen Mary's Peak, has an elevation of 2,062 metres (6,765 ft), high enough to develop snow cover in winter.
