"As a Kansas native attending the Architectural College at
Kansas State University in 1970-1971, I travelled highway K177 between Wichita and
Manhattan many times. The beauty and visual poetry of the Flint Hills left a
deep impression. Furthermore, I had numerous occasions to explore the Tall
Grass Prairie while pursuing my BFA from Emporia State University in 1975. The
various seasonal experiences have remained an artistic influence to this day". Gary A. Bibb
The 20th annual Prairie Art Exhibit and Auction inspired by
the Flint Hills is held in conjunction with the Signature Concert Event. Funds raised support the artists and further our
mission to “heighten appreciation and knowledge of the Flint Hills
tallgrass prairie.”
